The Silbermann Ensemble was created during a television recording in 2004, by Bernard Wolteche and Jan Van den Borre. These gifted musicians specialized in ancient music, chose "Silbermann" as a name for their baroque ensemble, in homage to Gottfried Silbermann, organ and pianoforte builder, as well as J.S. Bach's close collaborator.
The Silbermann Ensemble repertoire covers thus late baroque to early classical music (from 1720 to around 1780).
Silbermann regularly invite other musicians, whether instrumentalists or vocalists, to join them in concert.
